ABOUT US and OUR SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

The Lisbon Area Historical Society is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit that was founded in 1964, and preserves and promotes the rich history of Lisbon, Lyman, and Landaff, New Hampshire.

Our headquarters and museum are in the c. 1914 Historic Lisbon Congregational Church Parish House at 9 Depot Street, Lisbon, New Hampshire. The property is on the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places.

Our museum collection includes artifacts from the 1700s to present day including photographs, postcards, stereoviews, diaries, journals, clothing and textiles, farming and household items, books, maps, genealogy, and collections about people, cemeteries, events, railroads, homes, farms, business and industry, recreation, medicine, organizations, churches, schools, government, military, music, and more….

Our Board of Trustees is a working board supported by LAHS members, volunteers, members of our community, and others in a wide area, and our nonprofit is sustained through financial donations, membership dues, donations to our collection, and grant funding for specific projects.
